Bloodline Recollector Serialized /500 Is Reality Fracture’s Headliner Chase Card
Reality Fracture has no shortage of weird alternate-reality cards and premium treatments, but Wizards has already made it pretty clear which card is supposed to sit at the top of the collector food chain.
Bloodline Recollector // Ancestral Craving is the serialized headliner for Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture, with just 500 double rainbow foil copies printed in a throwback full-art frame.
The serialized version is illustrated by Mark Poole, the original artist behind Ancestral Recall. That's important because Bloodline Recollector isn't merely a scarce card. It's a deliberately warped Reality Fracture version of the serialized headliner from Secrets of Strixhaven.
Bloodline Recollector Is Reality Fracture’s Ancestral Recall

Earlier this year, Secrets of Strixhaven featured Emeritus of Ideation as its serialized headliner.
That card also had 500 serialized copies, also used a throwback full-art frame, and was also illustrated by Mark Poole. Wizards specifically designed it as a callback to Poole's original Ancestral Recall.
Wizards describes Bloodline Recollector as a warped version of the Secrets of Strixhaven headliner, both mechanically and aesthetically. Instead of simply drawing three cards, its spell side is Ancestral Craving, a black instant that lets a target player draw three cards while losing 3 life.
Ancestral Recall says draw three cards.
Reality Fracture apparently looked at that and said, "Sure, but what if it hurt?"
Seems about right.
What Does Bloodline Recollector Do?
Bloodline Recollector itself costs 1B for a 2/2 Vampire Warlock.
At the beginning of each end step, if three or more creatures died that turn, Bloodline Recollector becomes prepared. While prepared, you can cast a copy of its associated spell, Ancestral Craving, which then unprepares the creature.
Ancestral Craving costs just one black mana and reads:
Target player draws three cards and loses 3 life.
That's a lot of card draw for one mana if you have a deck capable of consistently turning on the prepared condition.
More importantly for collectors, though, you do not need the serialized card to play it. Wizards confirms the serialized and non-serialized versions are mechanically identical.
How Do You Pull the Serialized Bloodline Recollector?
Here's the important part.
The serialized /500 Bloodline Recollector appears only in Reality Fracture Collector Boosters.
It can appear in Collector Boosters of any language, but the serialized card itself will always be printed in English.
So if you're cracking Play Boosters hoping to pull No. 217/500, you can stop.
Wizards has not published an exact pull rate for Bloodline Recollector. Knowing that only 500 exist isn't enough to calculate the odds because we don't know how many Reality Fracture Collector Boosters will ultimately be produced.
Bloodline Recollector Has Three Reality Fracture Versions
Collectors also need to be careful about which Bloodline Recollector they're looking at.
The card currently has three Reality Fracture printings:
49: Regular version, illustrated by Cynthia Sheppard
402: Serialized /500 headliner, illustrated by Mark Poole
427: Extended-art version, illustrated by Cynthia Sheppard.
That makes No. 402 the version we're talking about here.
Current preorder pricing around the regular Bloodline Recollector has already been elevated, but don't confuse that market with the serialized version. The /500 copies don't have a meaningful established market yet.
Reality Fracture will have plenty of cards collectors want.
But 500 copies, Mark Poole artwork, a direct connection to Ancestral Recall and Collector Booster exclusivity give Bloodline Recollector something most of them simply can't match.
Wizards calls it the headliner for a reason.
