Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World is getting its first Story Booster, and Bandai is giving collectors plenty to chase.
Story Booster 01 [ST01] focuses heavily on memorable Dragon Ball moments, with premium cards built around characters including Vegito, Vegeta, Majin Buu, Broly, Son Goku, Son Gohan, Gotenks, and Son Goten. More importantly for collectors, ST01 introduces animation-cel-inspired Super Rare Alt-Arts, double-sided foil Leader Alt-Arts, Dragon Ball-pattern holographic cards, special Energy Markers, and premium versions of its two Secret Rares.
The English version of ST01 releases August 21, 2026. If you're trying to figure out what cards to watch for when packs start hitting stores, here's the simple collector breakdown.

Dragon Ball Fusion World Story Booster 01 Set Overview
ST01 is Story Booster 01, not a Starter Deck. That's an important distinction because Fusion World also uses similar FS product codes for its Starter Deck line.
The English set releases on August 21, 2026, with an MSRP of $5.99 per booster pack. Each pack contains 12 cards, and Bandai lists 85 card types in the set.
Story Booster 01 includes three brand-new Leaders: Son Goten, Majin Buu/Majin Buu: Pure Evil/Majin Buu: Evil, and Vegeta. Vegito from FB05 and Broly from FB08 also return as reprinted Leaders. All five have Alt-Art versions, with Bandai introducing a foil finish on both sides of the Leader card for the first time in Fusion World.
Vegito and Vegeta Super Alt-Art Secret Rares

ST01 contains two new Secret Rares, Vegito and Vegeta, and both receive premium Super Alt-Art versions. Bandai designed their backgrounds around memorable battle scenes, while the regular Alt-Art versions also feature artwork centered on iconic moments from Dragon Ball.
These are the highest-rarity cards Bandai has revealed for the set, making the Super Alt-Arts the natural centerpieces of ST01 for collectors.
Animation-Cel-Inspired SR Alt-Arts
ST01 contains 10 Super Rare Alt-Art cards, with two representing each of Fusion World's five colors.
What makes these particularly interesting is the artwork. Bandai says the designs were inspired by original animation cels, giving the cards a visual connection to the anime rather than simply providing alternate illustrations.
The lineup includes characters such as Son Goku, Son Gohan: Adolescence, Gotenks, Son Goku/Vegeta, Majin Buu: Evil, Majin Buu: Kid, Broly and others. For collectors who grew up watching Dragon Ball, these could become some of ST01's most appealing cards even outside the higher-rarity SCR chase.
Visual and Special Alt-Art Cards
ST01 goes well beyond the usual collection of character parallels. Bandai has created Visual Alt-Art cards that recreate memorable scenes from the series, along with several special design groups exclusive to the Story Booster concept.
Among them are Majin Buu-themed cards surrounded by a melted-chocolate-style design, a fitting reference to Buu's habit of turning enemies into sweets. Other Alt-Arts focus on famous battles and rivalries, including scenes from the Majin Buu arc and Broly battles.
There are also specially designed Super Combo cards for red, green, and black, the three colors represented by ST01's new Leaders.
Dragon Ball Holographic Commons
Even the Commons have something for collectors to look for.
All 36 Common cards in ST01 are available with a new Dragon Ball-themed holographic foil finish. Bandai says this is the first time this treatment has appeared in Fusion World.
These won't carry the same rarity as the Super Alt-Art Secret Rares, but they're an interesting addition for anyone attempting a master set. Instead of Commons being cards collectors immediately move past, ST01 gives all 36 an additional premium version to find.
ST01 Energy Marker Alt-Arts
ST01 also includes 12 exclusive Energy Marker designs based on memorable scenes from the anime. Each of those 12 markers has an additional Alt-Art version.
The premium versions use foil, frameless designs, turning something normally used as a game accessory into another collectible component of the set.
For master-set collectors, that effectively creates another 24-card group to consider when regular and Alt-Art Energy Markers are counted together.
Is Dragon Ball Fusion World ST01 Worth Watching?
ST01 isn't simply another Fusion World booster release. Bandai is using the Story Booster format to experiment with treatments that connect the cards much more directly to Dragon Ball itself, from animation-cel-inspired artwork and iconic battle scenes to Dragon Ball-pattern foils and frameless Energy Markers.
The Vegito and Vegeta Super Alt-Art Secret Rares should be the cards most collectors immediately watch, but ST01 has enough depth that the chase doesn't end there. The 10 SR Alt-Arts, five double-sided foil Leader Alt-Arts, Visual Alt-Arts, special Rare treatments, holographic Commons, and Energy Marker Alt-Arts give collectors plenty to look for throughout the set.
The big unanswered question is pull rates. Bandai's official English material confirms the cards and treatments, but it does not provide enough information to establish reliable English box or case odds. Until the English release arrives on August 21 and more sealed product is opened, I'd avoid treating early Japanese opening results as guaranteed English collation.
For now, the simple answer is that Vegito and Vegeta sit at the top of the ST01 chase, but Story Booster 01 looks designed to give collectors interesting hits well beyond its two Secret Rares.
