One Piece Card Game OP-17: The World’s Strongest Warriors releases in English on August 28, 2026, and collectors are already asking a pretty simple question: How much is this set actually going to cost at release?

The confusing part is that there isn't one OP-17 price right now. We've seen booster boxes offered around $120 earlier in the preorder cycle, other early listings below $200, and late preorder listings above $300. Meanwhile, some local players are worried about allocations and whether they'll be able to buy a box at all.

How Much Is a One Piece OP-17 Booster Box at MSRP?

Bandai lists OP-17 booster packs at $4.99 MSRP, and a standard booster display contains 24 packs. That makes 24 packs $119.76 when purchased at pack MSRP.

That distinction matters. $119.76 is the mathematical equivalent of 24 packs at MSRP, not a guarantee that every game store will sell sealed booster boxes for exactly that price.

We have seen at least one major retailer list OP-17 booster boxes at $119.99, although that preorder is now sold out.

How Much Are One Piece OP-17 Booster Box Preorders Right Now?

This is where things get messy.

Current and recent OP-17 listings show an enormous spread. One sold-out preorder was $119.99, another earlier preorder was $189.99, while a more recent English preorder listing has reached $363.

That doesn't mean $363 will be the OP-17 release price.

It means early preorder price, late preorder price and release-week market price are three different things.

Why Are One Piece OP-17 Collectors Frustrated With Booster Box Prices?

Because two people trying to buy the exact same product can currently have completely different experiences.

Some collectors locked in inexpensive preorders months ago. Others are now seeing boxes above $300. Recent community discussions have also included reports of cases selling for thousands of dollars and collectors worrying that rising prices will push regular players out of sealed product.

The frustration isn't simply that OP-17 is expensive. It's that nobody seems to know what a normal OP-17 price is supposed to be yet.

We don't know, and current preorder asking prices shouldn't automatically be treated as release prices.

High demand could keep prices elevated. Additional supply could push them lower. What we shouldn't do is look at a $350 preorder today and assume $350 is permanently the price of OP-17.

Availability could vary significantly by store.

Some recent community reports describe players having difficulty finding prerelease boxes, with one Denver discussion suggesting that regular customers may have better access to boxes around MSRP through their local stores.

There are also retailer warnings about allocations. One store that offered $189.99 preorders explicitly warned customers that quantities could change depending on what it ultimately received from distributors.

That doesn't prove Bandai underprinted OP-17. It does suggest that your local store's allocation may matter just as much as the online market price during launch week.

Why Are One Piece OP-17 Preorder Prices So Different?

Timing is a big reason.

Some stores opened orders months before release, before the biggest OP-17 chase cards and special treatments were fully revealed. As hype increased, inexpensive inventory disappeared and later listings became more expensive.

We can see that progression in the market. A $119.99 preorder sold out. A $189.99 preorder sold out. Meanwhile, we've found a later English preorder listed at $363.

That doesn't establish a $363 market value. It shows how much the cost of securing OP-17 before release has changed.

What Is a Good Price for a One Piece OP-17 Booster Box?

There isn't one magic number yet, but $4.99 per pack is the most useful official reference point.

Twenty-four packs at that price equal $119.76. From there, you can see exactly how large a premium you're being asked to pay.

A $150 box is a very different proposition from a $350 box.

Before paying a large online premium, it is also worth checking local game stores. Some stores may have purchase limits or prioritize regular players, but that can still be a better option than assuming the highest online preorder listing represents the entire OP-17 market.

Should You Preorder One Piece OP-17 or Wait Until Release?

Preordering now primarily buys you certainty, and even that can depend on the retailer receiving its expected allocation.

Waiting gives more OP-17 supply a chance to reach stores and the secondary market. It does not guarantee prices will fall.

If you only want a particular Manga Rare, SP, alternate art or other chase card, there's another option: skip the sealed-product fight entirely and watch singles once English boxes start being opened.

Opening packs is fun. Paying a huge premium to chase one specific card usually isn't the most predictable way to get it.

Will One Piece OP-17 Booster Box Prices Drop After Release?

Right now, OP-17 pricing is being shaped by preorders, hype, limited immediately available inventory and uncertainty over allocations. Release brings something the market currently doesn't have: large-scale English supply actually being opened and sold.

That is when we'll get a much clearer picture of what OP-17 booster boxes really cost.
