You get nine Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration booster packs.
One of the biggest gimmicks of the anniversary set is that every booster pack includes one of 30 different Pikachu cards.
That means opening an ETB gives you nine shots at building the 30-card Pikachu collection.
Duplicates are possible, of course. Pokémon isn't going to make completing this thing that easy.
What Promo Comes in the 30th Celebration ETB?
The regular ETB includes a full-art foil Nidorina promo card.
Nidorina is an especially appropriate choice for the anniversary because it is Pokédex No. 030, and the card artwork leans heavily into the number 30 theme.
It's a small detail, but exactly the sort of thing I like seeing in an anniversary set.
How Much Does the 30th Celebration ETB Cost?
The official MSRP is $49.99.
At that price, you're paying about $5.55 per booster pack before assigning any value to the Nidorina promo, sleeves or other accessories.
That's pretty reasonable for a specialty Pokémon release.
The presale market is another story.
Early secondary-market prices have been far above MSRP, so I would be very careful about paying a massive premium before the product is even released.
Regular ETB vs Pokémon Center ETB
There is also a Pokémon Center-exclusive version.
For an extra $10 at MSRP, the Pokémon Center version adds two booster packs and an exclusive stamped Nidorina promo.
That's a pretty easy upgrade if you can actually get one for retail.
Is the Pokémon 30th Celebration ETB Worth Buying?
At $49.99 MSRP, I think so.
You get nine packs from one of Pokémon's biggest anniversary sets, nine guaranteed Pikachu pulls, an exclusive Nidorina promo and all the normal ETB accessories.
You also have the chance to pull some of the set's much bigger collector targets.
The part I wouldn't recommend is treating a $49.99 box like it's automatically worth two or three times that price just because release day hasn't arrived yet.
At retail, I'm interested.
At panic-buying prices, somebody else can have mine.
