What Can You Pull From an OP-17 Booster Box? One Piece "The World's Strongest Warriors" Box Opening

We're finally getting a real look inside One Piece Card Game OP-17: The World's Strongest Warriors.

An early OP-17 booster box opening produced an alternate-art Charlotte Linlin, a Pandaman variant, Super Rares, Leaders and special DON!! cards, including a gold DON!!. It did not produce one of the massive Super Parallel or Gold Anniversary chase cards.

That gives us our first useful look at what opening OP-17 can actually feel like. Just keep one thing in mind: this is one early box opening, not enough evidence to establish guaranteed box hits or OP-17 pull rates.

The Early OP-17 Booster Box Opening

The opening comes from an early look at OP-17 ahead of the English prerelease on August 21. Rather than using one box to reverse-engineer pull rates, we're using it for something much simpler: documenting what actually came out of the packs.

That's particularly useful with OP-17 because The World's Strongest Warriors has an unusually deep mix of conventional rarities and special collector treatments. The box gives us a first chance to see some of those cards appearing together instead of looking at them individually through reveal images.

What Was Pulled From the OP-17 Booster Box?

These results describe this particular early OP-17 booster box and should not be interpreted as guaranteed box contents.

Charlotte Linlin Alt-Art Was One of the Biggest OP-17 Pulls

One of the box's standout hits was an alternate-art Charlotte Linlin, pulled at approximately 18:30. It's exactly the sort of card that would stop the conversation at the shop for a minute while everyone passes it around and gets a closer look.

What it doesn't tell us is how frequently this particular alternate art, or alternate arts generally, will appear across OP-17 boxes. We'll need considerably more opening data for that.

An OP-17 Pandaman Alt-Art Was Hiding Among the Commons

The Pandaman pull might be even more interesting because the hosts weren't expecting it. At approximately 16:57, they notice something different about what initially looks like another common before identifying the Pandaman artwork.

Later in the opening, they identify six vanilla cards that they theorize could correspond to the larger Pandaman group, although they explicitly treat that theory as unconfirmed.

The practical collector advice is easy: check your OP-17 commons before tossing them into the bulk pile.

A Gold DON!! Added Another OP-17 Collector Hit

The box also produced multiple DON!! treatments, including a gold DON!! that immediately caught attention during the opening.

It's another example of why OP-17 may be entertaining to rip even when a box doesn't contain one of the enormous headline cards. Between alternate arts, Pandaman variants and special DON!! treatments, there are smaller collector hits mixed into the chase.

No Gold Anniversary SP Appeared in This OP-17 Box

None of the Gold Anniversary cards featuring Luffy, Shanks, Blackbeard and Buggy appeared in this particular booster box.

That doesn't tell us how rare they are, but it does give us a useful reminder that OP-17 having a loaded chase-card lineup doesn't mean every box is going to contain one of its biggest cards.

No Manga/Super Parallel Was Pulled Either

The box also missed the Manga/Super Parallel tier, so there was no gigantic end-of-the-video jackpot.

That's probably a more realistic look at sealed product than judging OP-17 entirely by social-media posts showing the best pulls. This box still had interesting cards without producing one of the set's monsters.

What Do We Know About OP-17 Pull Rates?

Here's where I'd draw a very hard line between observed and confirmed.

One box can tell us what happened once. It can't tell us whether something happens once per box, once per case or at some completely different frequency.

Those answers should become much clearer when substantially more product starts getting opened.

What We Still Don't Know About OP-17 Booster Boxes

The unanswered questions are arguably more interesting than the answers right now.

We still need reliable data on box-hit configurations, case hits, Manga/Super Parallel odds, Gold Anniversary SP frequency, Pandaman distribution and whether particular premium treatments consistently appear together.

Those are all subjects worth covering, but only once there's enough evidence to answer them properly.

Until then, we're keeping the difference between "we saw somebody pull this" and "this is the pull rate" very clear.

The Bottom Line on Early OP-17 Booster Box Pulls

If you walked into the shop today and asked what we actually know about OP-17 booster boxes, I'd keep the answer simple: there appears to be plenty worth finding even when you don't hit one of the monster chase cards.

This early box produced Charlotte Linlin's alternate art, a Pandaman variant, Super Rares, Leaders and special DON!! cards without producing a Gold Anniversary SP, Manga/Super Parallel or Super Alt-Art Leader.

That's enough information to make the opening useful without pretending we know more than we do.

Once OP-17 prerelease begins on August 21, the sample size should explode. That's when we'll start finding out whether the patterns from these early openings hold up, and when questions about actual box hits, case hits and pull rates become much more answerable.

For now, we finally have a better answer to "What can you pull from an OP-17 booster box?"
