Disney Lorcana is getting a new 2-Player Starter Set with Hyperia City, and this one has a little more going on than two prebuilt decks.
The Technically Terrific and Madcap Whimsy set includes two complete 60-card decks built for two players to open the box and start playing. More importantly, the product arrives alongside Ink Drops, a new resource coming to Lorcana with Hyperia City.
Here is what we know so far.
What Comes in the Lorcana Hyperia City 2-Player Starter Set?
The currently listed contents include:
Each deck contains 60 cards and two special foil cards, giving the box four foils in total. The two decks use different two-ink combinations and are intended to offer distinct play styles.
Current retailer listings put the MSRP at $29.99.
One notable omission is booster packs. Southern Hobby's current product contents do not list any boosters inside the starter set.
What Are Technically Terrific and Madcap Whimsy?

The two decks are called Technically Terrific and Madcap Whimsy.
Current reveal material identifies Technically Terrific as an Emerald and Sapphire deck featuring Baymax, while Madcap Whimsy combines Amethyst and Steel with Madam Mim.
That Baymax reveal has already attracted attention from players excited to see more Big Hero 6 representation, while Madam Mim gives The Sword in the Stone fans another reason to watch the product.
The complete 60-card deck lists have not been published in the sources we reviewed yet, so there is still plenty left to learn about exactly how each deck plays.
What Are Ink Drops in Disney Lorcana?

This may be the most interesting part of the reveal.
Ink Drops are a new resource being introduced with Hyperia City. Disney's official D23 recap describes them as one-time bursts of ink power that can be used by both heroes and villains.
That immediately led Lorcana players to compare Ink Drops with temporary resource systems from games such as Magic: The Gathering and Star Wars: Unlimited. Those comparisons make sense as shorthand, but the full Lorcana rules for generating, tracking and spending Ink Drops have not yet been explained in the official material we've found.
So for now, the important part is simple:
Ink Drops provide one-time access to additional ink power.
Exactly how powerful that becomes could be one of the biggest gameplay questions surrounding Hyperia City.
When Does the Hyperia City Starter Set Release?
Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City has a prerelease date of October 16, 2026, followed by its wider release on October 23, 2026. Ravensburger has confirmed those dates for the set, and distributor listings currently show the 2-Player Starter Set releasing October 23.

Is the Hyperia City 2-Player Starter Set Worth Watching?
For new or casual Lorcana players, absolutely.
You are getting two complete decks designed to play against each other, four foil cards and the basic accessories needed to start playing. At a currently listed $29.99 MSRP, that makes the product a much simpler entry point than buying two decks separately and trying to figure out where to begin.
For established players, the bigger story may be Ink Drops and whatever new Hyperia City cards appear inside the two decks.
We still need the complete deck lists and full Ink Drop rules before making any judgment about how strong Technically Terrific or Madcap Whimsy actually are.
For now, though, this looks like one of the more interesting Lorcana starter products of 2026.
