Every OP-17 Gold Anniversary SP Card: Luffy, Shanks, Blackbeard & Buggy

One Piece Card Game OP-17: The World's Strongest Warriors is loaded with premium cards, but one four-card group is particularly easy to spot. Monkey.D.Luffy, Shanks, Marshall.D.Teach and Buggy each receive a gold Special Card treatment celebrating the Four Emperors.

These cards are separate from OP-17's six Conqueror's Haki SP cards and its Manga-style Super Alt-Art cards. That distinction matters because OP-17 contains several premium treatments that can easily get lumped together as "SPs" by collectors. Current OP-17 card listings identify all four of these cards as Gold variants, while collector coverage has described them as the set's Gold Anniversary SP group.

What Are the OP-17 Gold Anniversary SP Cards?

There are four Gold Anniversary SP cards associated with the Four Emperors in OP-17:

An in-person reveal of the four cards identifies the same lineup and card numbers, while current OP-17 databases classify each as a Gold treatment.

The important collector detail is that these are premium versions of existing cards rather than four brand-new gameplay cards. The card numbers remain tied to their earlier releases.

What Is the OP-17 Gold Monkey.D.Luffy ST31-004 SP Card?

Monkey.D.Luffy ST31-004 receives one of the four gold treatments.

The original card comes from Starter Deck 31 and represents Luffy as a member of the Four Emperors and Straw Hat Crew. Its gameplay effect can give Luffy Rush once enough DON!! has been given, while its On Play effect can reduce opposing Characters' power based on the number of Straw Hat Crew cards on your field.

The OP-17 version keeps ST31-004 as its card number but gives the card the premium gold presentation.

Early collector interest has been particularly strong around Luffy. An in-hand look at the OP-17 version circulated in July and highlighted the card's heavy texture and gold presentation.

Given that Luffy is also represented among OP-17's biggest Super Alt-Art chases, collectors are going to have multiple high-end Luffy cards to distinguish in this set.

What Is the OP-17 Gold Shanks OP13-028 SP Card?

Shanks OP13-028 is the second Gold Anniversary SP.

Unlike the Luffy card, this one originates in OP-13: Carrying on His Will. The regular OP13-028 is a 10-cost, 12,000-power Super Rare whose On Play ability sets all of your DON!! cards active, followed by a restriction on playing additional cards from your hand that turn.

OP-17 brings that existing Shanks card back with the new gold treatment.

That also means collectors shouldn't confuse this card with the new OP-17 Shanks Leader or other Shanks cards appearing in the set. The easiest identifier is the number:

OP13-028.

What Is the OP-17 Gold Marshall.D.Teach ST27-005 SP Card?

The third card belongs to Marshall.D.Teach, better known as Blackbeard.

The gold card uses ST27-005, originally released through Starter Deck 27.

Its effect allows Teach to rest himself to K.O. an opposing Character costing 3 or less. When Teach is K.O.'d, the card can return a black card from your trash to your hand.

As with the other cards in this group, OP-17 isn't introducing a new card number. It's giving an existing Four Emperors card a premium collector treatment.

What Is the OP-17 Gold Buggy P-084 SP Card?

Buggy P-084 may be the most unusual member of the group because the underlying card is a Promo, rather than an OP-series or Starter Deck card.

The card prevents itself from attacking and, when paired with a Buggy Leader, prevents Characters costing 3 or 4 from attacking. Its On Play ability can also play a Cross Guild Character costing 6 or less from your hand.

TCGplayer's OP-17 listing confirms the P-084 numbering and notes that the OP-17 version is a reprint of the existing card, with differences from the previous promotional printing.

That makes Buggy an especially interesting card for collectors who track promotional variants and alternate printings, not just numbered booster-set cards.

Are the OP-17 Gold Anniversary SP Cards the Same as the Conqueror's Haki SP Cards?

No. The four Gold Anniversary SP cards are a separate group from OP-17's six Conqueror's Haki SP cards. The Haki lineup features Roronoa Zoro, Kozuki Oden, Monkey.D.Garp, Gol.D.Roger, Yamato and Silvers Rayleigh, which we've covered separately in our complete OP-17 Conqueror's Haki SP guide.

The Gold Anniversary cards instead focus on the Four Emperors: Monkey.D.Luffy, Shanks, Marshall.D.Teach and Buggy. Current OP-17 card databases also distinguish the groups, listing the Four Emperors cards as Gold variants while cards such as Oden are categorized as SP.  For collectors trying to keep OP-17's growing number of premium treatments straight, the easiest distinction is simple: six Conqueror's Haki SP cards and four Gold Anniversary cards featuring the Four Emperors.

How Rare Are the OP-17 Gold Anniversary SP Cards?

We don't have reliable English OP-17 pull-rate data yet.

That's the answer I would publish before prerelease rather than turning community estimates into facts.

OP-17 English prerelease begins August 21, 2026, followed by the full English release on August 28, 2026. Bandai lists the set at 131+4 card types and officially includes Special Cards among its rarity categories.

Collectors are already speculating about how frequently the gold cards will appear relative to the Haki SPs and other premium treatments, but those discussions are not enough to establish an English pull rate.

Once English cases start being opened, we'll have much better evidence.

How Much Will the OP-17 Gold SP Cards Be Worth?

It's too early to give these cards trustworthy long-term prices.

Presale pricing can be useful for measuring initial demand, but OP-17 hasn't reached English prerelease yet. Prices for high-end chase cards can move dramatically once actual supply begins entering the market.

Luffy will naturally attract attention because of the character, while Shanks, Blackbeard and Buggy each have established collector followings of their own. But I wouldn't treat a late-presale asking price as established market value.

For collectors, the better questions during release week will be:

How difficult are these cards actually to pull?

How many appear across opened cases?

How much supply reaches TCGplayer after August 28?

Those answers will tell us considerably more about where the four cards settle.

Are the OP-17 Gold Anniversary SP Cards Worth Chasing?

If you're collecting OP-17 specifically for its premium treatments, the Four Emperors gold cards are absolutely a subset worth knowing about.

They're visually distinctive, feature four of the biggest characters associated with the current era of One Piece, and sit alongside an unusually deep lineup of collector cards in The World's Strongest Warriors.

Just don't confuse them with the Haki SPs, Manga-style Super Alt-Arts, Leader parallels or the other special treatments in OP-17.

For collectors trying to build a complete OP-17 master set, the four cards to remember are:
