Loki OP17-119 Secret Rare: Why the One Piece “Cursed Prince” Is a Hot New Chase Card

OP-17: The World’s Strongest Warriors has plenty of flashy cards competing for collectors’ attention, but Loki OP17-119 has found a way to stand out without needing a Manga treatment.

The reason is pretty simple. Loki combines Secret Rare status, perfect timing with the current Elbaf storyline, and an unusual card effect that has players talking. That gives OP17-119 something collectors love to see in a chase card: more than one reason for people to want it.

Loki may not become the most expensive card in OP-17, and there is not enough market data to make that claim responsibly. What we can say is that the “Cursed Prince” has quickly become one of the set’s more interesting cards for both collectors and players.

Why Is Loki OP17-119 a Chase Card?

Loki OP17-119 is a Black Secret Rare from OP-17 that combines a major current One Piece character with legitimate gameplay potential. Loki costs 6 DON!!, has 8000 power, increases his own cost by 12, gains another 3000 power during the opponent’s turn, and can K.O. opposing Characters whose combined cost is 4 or less when played.

That combination gives collectors a Secret Rare tied directly to the Elbaf era while giving competitive players a card with removal, a large defensive body, and immediate synergy with the new Monkey.D.Luffy OP17-079 Leader.

Loki OP17-119 Card Details

The revealed effect gives Loki +12 cost while he is on the field. Since his printed cost is 6, Loki effectively becomes an 18-cost Character. During the opponent’s turn, he also receives +3000 power, raising him from 8000 to 11,000 power.

His On Play effect can K.O. opposing Characters whose combined cost is 4 or less. That could mean one 4-cost Character, two 2-cost Characters, or another combination that stays within that total.

Why Collectors Are Paying Attention to Loki

The biggest collector argument for Loki has little to do with his card effect.

His timing is excellent.

The One Piece anime officially began its Elbaf arc in April 2026, and the franchise’s official website specifically singled Loki out as one of the notable characters arriving in the new storyline.

Then came Episode 1160, whose official Japanese title translates to “Encounter in the Snowfield: Cursed Prince Loki.” The episode formally introduces Loki in Elbaf and establishes the “Cursed Prince” identity used in this article’s headline.

That matters for a trading card.

Collectors are not looking at a Secret Rare of some forgotten character who appeared hundreds of episodes ago. Loki OP17-119 arrives while Loki is actively part of one of the franchise’s biggest current storylines.

The revealed card art helps, too. Loki is shown chained against the snowy Elbaf setting, tying the card closely to the version of the character fans are currently encountering.

That creates a straightforward collector case: Major current character + Secret Rare + recognizable Elbaf artwork + first-wave TCG relevance.

Is Loki OP17-119 a Manga Rare?

The Loki card shown here is a Secret Rare, not a Manga treatment.

That distinction is worth making because “Secret Rare” and “Manga Rare” are not interchangeable terms in the One Piece Card Game. Loki can still be a desirable chase card without being positioned at the very top of OP-17’s premium-treatment hierarchy.

There is also no reason to manufacture a price prediction around that distinction.

Calling Loki a chase card is reasonable. Calling it a future $500 card would be guesswork.

Until OP-17 has a mature market, real sales history, and reliable information about supply, any aggressive value prediction would be speculation.

Why Players Like Loki OP17-119

This is where Loki becomes more interesting than a typical character-driven collector card.

Start with the basic numbers: 6 DON!! for an 8000-power Character that becomes 11,000 power during the opponent’s turn. Loki also increases his own cost from 6 to 18 while in play.

That last part matters because of Monkey.D.Luffy OP17-079.

Luffy’s Leader effect gives Blocker to all of your Characters with a cost of 12 or more. Since Loki raises his own cost to 18, he qualifies automatically.

Under the OP17-079 Luffy Leader, Loki can therefore: Enter for 6 DON!!, remove opposing Characters totaling up to 4 cost, become an 18-cost Character, gain Blocker, and sit at 11,000 power during the opponent’s turn.

That is a lot of utility packed into a 6-cost Character.

Loki’s removal also gets more interesting in strategies capable of reducing opposing Character costs. Lowering those costs before Loki comes down can potentially allow his On Play effect to remove a better combination of targets.

That exact interaction came up quickly in the early Reddit discussion. Players also immediately noticed the Luffy Blocker synergy and Loki’s unusually large defensive profile, with some commenters already debating whether the card represented another step in the game’s power creep.

That is early theorycrafting, not tournament proof. OP-17 still needs actual competitive play before anyone can confidently say how important Loki will be to the metagame.

Loki Has Something Collectors and Players Both Want

That overlap might be the most interesting thing about OP17-119.

A collector can want Loki because he is a Secret Rare featuring the “Cursed Prince” during the height of the Elbaf storyline. A player can want the exact same card because its 18-cost interaction with Luffy, defensive power, removal, and Giant/Elbaf typing could make it genuinely useful.

Those two audiences do not always care about the same cards.

With Loki, they might.

Is Loki OP17-119 Worth Chasing?

Yes, Loki OP17-119 is one of the more interesting OP-17 cards to watch, particularly if you collect major One Piece characters or plan to experiment with the new Elbaf strategy.

For collectors, the attraction is the combination of Secret Rare status and a character who is currently receiving major attention in the One Piece story. For players, Loki has a distinctive effect and a particularly clean interaction with Luffy OP17-079.

What we do not know yet is where Loki will ultimately rank among OP-17’s most valuable cards or how important he will become competitively.

And that is fine.

A chase card does not have to be the most expensive card in the set.

Loki OP17-119 already has something arguably more interesting: collectors and players have completely different reasons to want the same card.

For the “Cursed Prince,” that is a pretty strong One Piece Card Game debut.
