"I WANT TO LIVE!"

Man, that moment still gives us chills all these years later.

Nico Robin is finally getting her first Manga Rare-style card in the One Piece Card Game, with a new Super Alt-Art version of Nico Robin OP18-031 revealed for the upcoming OP-18 booster set, The Dominance of God.

For one of the most popular members of the Straw Hat Crew, this feels overdue. Robin has had plenty of cards since the One Piece Card Game launched, including some seriously nice alternate arts and an expensive SP from Heroines Edition. What she has never had is the big one: a Manga Rare.

That's changing with OP-18, and Bandai picked a pretty awesome version of Robin for it.

The OP-18 Nico Robin Manga Rare Is All About Enies Lobby

Instead of going with a modern post-timeskip Robin, the OP-18 card takes us back to pre-timeskip Nico Robin and the Water 7/Enies Lobby era.

That's exactly where I would have wanted a Robin Manga Rare to go.

The card surrounds Robin with manga panels pulled from different parts of her story, including imagery from the Enies Lobby arc. Most importantly, the artwork includes the iconic moment surrounding Robin's declaration that she wants to live.

For a Manga Rare, that's about as fitting as it gets.

Robin's story at Water 7 and Enies Lobby is one of the defining stretches of One Piece. It's where her relationship with the Straw Hats really changes from someone traveling with the crew into someone who understands that these people are willing to declare war on the world to save her.

Putting that version of Robin on her first Manga Rare makes this feel much more deliberate than simply picking a popular character and surrounding her with manga panels.

What Is Nico Robin OP18-031?

The underlying Nico Robin OP18-031 is a green Super Rare Character card.

The currently revealed Japanese version has:

  • 4 cost

  • 5,000 power

  • +1,000 counter

  • Green

  • W7 / Straw Hat Crew traits

The revealed Japanese effect allows Robin to help protect one of your Characters from being removed by an opponent's effect by resting Robin instead. She can also set a W7 card and a DON!! card active at the end of your turn.

There could be some interesting deck-building possibilities there, particularly with the Water 7 support arriving in OP-18.

But let's be serious. Nobody is going to be chasing this version of Robin because they need a four-cost green Character for their deck. This is a museum piece.

Robin Was One of the Biggest Straw Hats Still Missing a Manga Rare

That's what makes this reveal especially exciting.

The One Piece Card Game has already turned characters like Luffy, Zoro, Nami and other major fan favorites into high-end Manga Rare chase cards. Robin's absence had become increasingly noticeable, particularly after Bandai continued giving her premium alternate-art treatments without making the jump to a Manga Rare.

Fans were literally asking for a Robin Manga Rare when her EB-03 card was revealed last year.

Now we're getting one, and the early collector response is about what you'd expect. The reveal has already generated plenty of "I need this card" reactions, with collectors specifically praising the pre-timeskip choice and iconic Enies Lobby imagery.

Of all the Straw Hats that still needed this treatment, Robin was near the top of the list.

When Does the OP-18 Nico Robin Manga Rare Release?

Bandai's official English One Piece Card Game account says OP-18: The Dominance of God will release in November 2026.

An exact English release date has not been confirmed in that announcement, so we're sticking with November for now.

We also don't have confirmed English pull rates or anything resembling a meaningful market price for the Robin Super Alt-Art yet. Any price predictions this early would mostly be guessing.

What we can say is that this has all the ingredients of a major collector chase: a hugely popular Straw Hat, her first Manga Rare, an iconic story arc and artwork built around some of Robin's most memorable moments.

OP-18 already had our attention.

Now it definitely has it.
