How to Get the Pokemon 30th Celebration Mewtwo Promo Card

Make plans to beat the scalpers, beause Pokemon is giving collectors another reason to make a retail run in October, and this one should get plenty of attention.

Beginning October 2, 2026, shoppers in the United States can receive a special Mewtwo Pokemon TCG card after spending $15 or more on Pokemon TCG products at participating retailers. The promotion uses Mewtwo 063/128 from Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration, with a special anniversary treatment that separates it from the version pulled normally from booster packs.

That makes this a pretty easy promo to chase compared with some retailer exclusives. Instead of being tied to one store, Pokemon is spreading Mewtwo across several major chains.

Where Can You Get the Pokemon 30th Celebration Mewtwo Promo Card?

The Pokemon 30th Celebration Mewtwo Promo Card promotion is scheduled to begin October 2 at the following U.S. retailers:

• Best Buy

• Hot Topic

• Five Below

• Barnes & Noble

• Macy’s

• BoxLunch

Spend at least $15 on Pokemon TCG products at a participating retailer and you can receive the Mewtwo card as a gift with purchase while promotional supplies remain available.

That retailer list is the part I like most about this promotion. We have seen plenty of Pokemon promos where collectors are stuck hunting down one specific chain, but seven different U.S. retailers should give people several chances to find Mewtwo without immediately resorting to the secondary market.

So Which Mewtwo Are We Actually Getting?

The giveaway is based on Mewtwo 063/128, one of the regular cards in Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration. Card databases began adding the English 063/128 Mewtwo as the full set was revealed this week.

That distinction matters because 30th Celebration already has enough Mewtwo cards to make things confusing.

There is Mewtwo 063/128, Mewtwo ex 064/128, the Mewtwo ex Special Illustration Rare, the Futuristic Rare Mewtwo ex, and a completely separate Mewtwo promo coming in the Mewtwo Figure Collection later this year. The Figure Collection card is MEP 104, so it is not the same card as this retailer giveaway.

Mewtwo Plus a 30th Anniversary Stamp Is Going to Get Attention

Mewtwo was already going to be one of the biggest names in 30th Celebration before Pokemon added another version for collectors to track down. The set includes multiple Mewtwo cards, including one of the new Futuristic Rares, while a dedicated Mewtwo Figure Collection arrives later in the year.

The other reason I expect interest is that the requirement is reasonable. If you're already buying $15 worth of Pokemon cards, getting a stamped Mewtwo on top of the purchase is considerably easier to justify than paying whatever price the card develops on eBay during the first few days.

Pokemon used the same general $15 gift-with-purchase structure for several retailer promos earlier in 2026, including the Pitch Black cards distributed through GameStop, Best Buy, Hot Topic, Barnes & Noble and BoxLunch. Those offers were also limited by available supply.

I would not wait too long if this is a card you want for a 30th Celebration master collection. Seven retailers should help availability, but Mewtwo plus a 30th anniversary stamp is exactly the sort of combination that tends to get collectors out the door early.
