Where to Buy Pokemon 30th Celebration: Target, Walmart, DICK’S, Family Dollar & More

Pokemon 30th Celebration releases September 16, and judging by what people are searching right now, collectors aren’t just wondering which cards are in the set. They’re trying to figure out which stores will actually have it.

Target, Walmart, DICK’S Sporting Goods, GameStop, Best Buy and even Family Dollar are all showing up in searches ahead of release day, but buying the set won’t work the same way at every retailer.

Here’s what we could actually confirm.

Where to Buy Pokemon 30th Celebration

Target Has One of the Biggest Pokemon 30th Lineups

Target already has listings live for the Elite Trainer Box, Poster Collection, Tech Sticker Collection, Knock Out Collection, Sylveon ex Box, Greninja ex Box and tins, all carrying a September 16 street date.

There is one thing worth watching: Target’s prices are higher than the basic MSRP on several products. The standard ETB is currently listed at $69.99, while Best Buy has the same product at $49.99.

So Target may be one of the easier stores to find in search results, but it isn’t automatically the cheapest.

Walmart Is Using a Drawing

Walmart isn’t simply throwing its biggest 30th Celebration products online and hoping for the best.

Its official Collectibles Draw page has four drawings opening September 16 at 2 p.m. PT, or 5 p.m. ET:

• Two Elite Trainer Boxes

• Sylveon ex and Greninja ex Box bundle

• Six Poster Collections

• 12-count Tech Sticker Collection display

The ETB bundle is listed at $139.94.

If you’ve been seeing people search “Walmart Pokemon 30th”, this drawing is a big reason why.

DICK’S Sporting Goods Is Another Drawing

DICK’S is one of the strangest names suddenly climbing Pokemon searches, but there’s a reason for it.

Pokemon stock trackers reported that DICK’S opened app-only 30th Celebration drawings on September 15, with additional products appearing through the DICK’S Sporting Goods app. The current drawing window is reportedly scheduled to remain open through September 22.

I’d treat DICK’S differently from Target or Best Buy because we don’t have the same clean public web storefront showing the entire release. If you want to check it, the DICK’S app appears to be the important place to look.

Best Buy Has Confirmed Release-Day Stock

Best Buy is the cleanest confirmed option.

The retailer says stores nationwide will begin carrying Pokemon 30th Celebration products on September 16, specifically naming the Elite Trainer Box, Poster Collection and Tech Sticker Collection.

Best Buy also has the ETB listed at $49.99, along with the Knock Out Collection at $9.99, Poster Collection at $14.99 and other first-wave products.

Demand is clearly expected to be heavy. Lines were already forming outside at least one Best Buy location a day before release.

Why Are People Searching Family Dollar?

This one looked bizarre until we dug into why "where to buy Pokemon 30th Celebration Family Dollar" is Trending.

There are community reports that some Family Dollar stores already have 30th Celebration Knock Out Collections on shelves before the official release date. That lines up almost perfectly with “family dollar near me” breaking out in your Google data at the same time that searches for the 30th Celebration Knock Out Collection are rising.

The important word is some. This is based on store-level reports, not a Family Dollar announcement that every store will carry the set.

So Family Dollar is worth checking locally, but I wouldn’t drive across three states assuming there’s an ETB waiting behind the register.

What About GameStop, Dollar General and Barnes & Noble?

GameStop has official 30th Celebration product listings with the September 16 launch date, including the Tech Sticker Collection and other first-wave products.

For Dollar General, I could not find reliable evidence of a chainwide 30th Celebration release-day program. Stores may still receive Pokemon inventory locally, but I wouldn’t list Dollar General as confirmed until we see better evidence.

The same distinction matters for Barnes & Noble. Pokemon has confirmed Barnes & Noble as one of the retailers participating in the October 2 Mewtwo promo, but that doesn’t automatically confirm what each store will have on September 16.

That’s probably the most useful way to approach this release: Target, Walmart, DICK’S, Best Buy and GameStop have clear 30th Celebration activity. Family Dollar is showing up through real local sightings. Dollar General and Barnes & Noble are worth checking, but I wouldn’t call their release-day inventory confirmed yet.

With the amount of retailer-specific searching happening right now, tomorrow may be less about finding out what’s in Pokemon 30th Celebration and more about figuring out who actually has it in stock.
